I see the new GT as a sign of an important shift for post recession Ford: away from nostalgia, steel and big V8's; and towards modern technology, efficient engines, lightweight chassis engineering, and kicking ass at LeMans again. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! sees it as... well...

Here are my favorites:
Just what we need. A great way to waste fossil fuel and warm the planet.

If you have the mechanical aptitude you can build an older car with the same horsepower or way more for a hell of a lot less than what the obvious price for this would be and paddleshift is a joke meant for people who dont know how to drive a conventional manual transmission

How uncomfortable would it be to practice making babies in the back seat of this thing?

The Viper would eat this thing for lunch and still be hungry! As for all those that are still whining about that Government money GET OVER IT that is OLD NEWS Ford still makes junk just like Chevy does!

Needs much more power to be considered a super car , 600 hp is a joke these days

Where did the interview go? I'm not sure I'd have used the GT moniker on this. Was the red one really a "1st generation" GT-40? Looking forward to more info on this, was it wind-tunneled or just look like it? I hate to admit it, but, the new 'vette is an amazing auto for what it is [affordable American road rocket] at twice the price [final cost not given] the new Ford looks like another auto show stopper yet when it hits the showroom will probably sell like the retro T-bird [seems to be a real problem at Ford- the real "lookers" aren't practical or are the 1%ers really that short?] Good Luck Ford.

Ford is supposed to be affordable. This car's design looks antiquated.I think Ford should look to build a car like the Corvette for an affordable price. Jumping into the 150's and above is a mistake. FYI remember it's still a Ford, the last GT they didn't want to warranty, so let me guess no warranty for this either? 3 years 36? Ridiculous, join the 21st century.

In a world with the Model S P85D why would you spend twice the money on this?
There are some great comebacks too, glad to see that Jalop's are out there, fighting the good fight.
But my overall feeling was basically...

Agreed.
I spent nearly all day Monday arguing about how its totally irrelevant what kind of mileage this might get.
It's a Supercar built for only one purpose; To shit on Ferrari at Le Mans.
That the 918 and P1 exist is great, but they do not represent the entirety of all Super/Hyper cars.

Hence the ambiguous title. Just about anywhere without a small, well informed body of contributors like here is like 90% insanity/entertainment haha.
It's fantastic, and cheaper than cable, if you can refrain from getting angry.

People tend to just point out designs in every new car and compare it to other cars. Even on Jalopnik, the whole "Mustang looks like Accord Coupe" thing has become a community meme.
I shared the Ford GT reveal, first reply from my only car friend, "Wow cars all look the same lol, no more originality"

Gotta love the all cars look the same line people parrot. Yes, because every Taurus has flying buttresses. And back when half the cars on the road were Model-T's that came in any color you like as long as it's black, cars all looked totally different.

This is ALWAYS a valid point.

So derp. Many dumbass. Wow. Wow. Not a single one of those remarks makes a single dram of sense. They would make more sense if translated into Japanese, machine-translated into Swahili, and then sign-language-interpreted by the fraud guy from the Mandela funeral. "Warranty"? "lolwatishalocar"? "hurrhurr Viper hurr"? I think "warm the planet" guy is the most in need of an assbeating, but there's plenty to go around.

Unrelated: I think Brian Cooley is one of the best car reviewers out there, informative and humorous without any forced humor. I also find his voice strangely soothing.

This car's design looks antiquated.
HAHAHA What??? This is probably the most futuristic design on something made to be produced in the near future.

It's just like the comment section on The Verge. There's already people out there stating the car is too slow, it's not a true supercar without more power, blah blah blah.
I just gave up and retreated back to here. Reading about cars on blogs that aren't meant to cover them (when did tech sites start covering Auto Shows anyways?) is just frustrating.
There's a nice Corvette Article on ArsTechnica right now at least half a dozen comments are bitching about the 6.2L engine "making so little power." Like; "I can't believe what the HP/L figure is on this car! It's so embarrassing!"
Ugh.

These are hilarious. I do kind of agree with that "antiquated design" person. It feels very '90s to me and reminds me more of this ugly sunuvagun than anything else:
I can't place why though.
